It was great having everything provided - sheets, towels, etc. We would love to stay at this home again! Michael W. 7/16/2006 I wanted to comment on our stay at Slate Run this past week. I did complete the survey form but also wanted to provide you with feedback that you are welcome to use. We had family in from Florida, Arkansas and Virginia. We all found the house to be very comfortable, great for conversation, great for laying around, great for sending the kids downstairs so the adults could have a break and catch up, outstanding views and waterfront. The furnishings were some of the best we have used while renting properties. You have stocked the kitchen perfectly. We did not need one thing for cooking. The master bath shower was a huge hit with the kids. Also, your location on the lake is perfect. It was an easy boat ride to all the various sections of the lake. The yard made for good frisbee throwing, soccer and softball tossing. We caught a bunch of fish off the dock and the little kids loved feeding the fish. We had a great time and Slate Run was a major contributor to a successful reunion. We had not one complaint! We left Saturday night due to family having early flights out of Richmond this morning. My family and I absolutely enjoyed our weekend and were not ready to leave. You made it feel so homey, even though we brought everything we needed, you provided more than we ever expected. The view was wonderful and talk about secluded! Your screened porch was my favorite. The decor of your home was beautiful and the space we had was great since I have three small children they were so excited. I also have to say the detail you had in your information book about the area and where everything was in the house was so descriptive and so helpful. The decor was very comfortable and pleasing. It is nice to have a get-a-way so close to home - we didn't spend our whole weekend driving. This was our children's first time fishing. (8,6,3,3 months old) They were on the dock in the wind and pouring rain and chilly air - not caring that it really wasn't conducive fishing weather or timing. This was also their first time in a canoe! They loved it! The best part for them too was making s'mores by the fire pit. We'll definitely be back! We love the beach, but the kids got to do more water things than they would have at the ocean ... They didn't even get to swim!!! Next trip!
